Early Literacy Skills
I will help your child build the foundational skills needed to be a successful reader, including phonological awareness, print awareness, rhyming, inventive spelling, and more. We will engage in playful activities focused on pre-reading skills to foster an early love for reading in your child.
Reading Intervention & Dyslexia Support
I provide targeted reading support that reflects the practices of a structured literacy approach, grounded in the science behind reading research. Using Orton-Gillingham methods and strategies, I help children improve on the five key concepts of reading identified by the National Reading Panel: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension. My intervention is direct and explicit, systematic, and multisensory, ensuring that learning is effective and enjoyable. I incorporate hands-on activities and games to support my students' unique needs, keeping them motivated and engaged throughout the learning process.
Spelling / Writing Skills
Spelling and reading rely on the same mental representation of a word, so knowing how to spell a word makes the representation of it strong and more easily accessible for fluent reading. Through explicit multisensory instruction in basic phonics skills, I will help your child uncover the rules of our language and become a better speller. Additionally, I can help your child build their confidence in foundational writing skills, including sentence structure, basic grammar, organization, revising and editing, and more. They will learn how to effectively express themselves through writing.

All students are on their own unique educational journey. To encourage my gifted students in new and challenging ways, I take their individual skills and interests and go deeper through project-based learning, advanced topics, and creative science experiments and activities. I will help cultivate a growth-mindset in your child!

By focusing on your child’s entire well-being, I can help your child develop their overall self-regulation skills, identify and communicate their emotions and needs, develop empathy for others, and navigate relationships with their friends and peers through play, books, games and role-playing.

We use both expressive and receptive language skills to communicate with others effectively. I will work with your child to strengthen these skills by helping them find ways to share and understand thoughts, ideas, and feelings!

With my students who are growing their executive functioning skills, I provide different activities to help them understand the role that executive function plays both in their everyday life but also with their academics. I use high interest activities to help students learn how to build their perception and attention skills, strengthen their verbal and nonverbal working memory, time management and more!

Elementary Math Skills
Using a multisensory based approach to teaching math, I will meet your child at their current skill level and help them learn math concepts in a way that makes sense to them! Through hands-on games and learning activities, I help kids conceptualize math rather than only focusing on rote memorization.

I offer 1:1 coaching sessions to educators who are interested in learning more about the science of reading! We can discuss lesson planning, multisensory techniques in the classroom, consulting on an individual case, and useful tips and strategies to help your readers!
